Text Box: Who is MOAA?
The Military Officers Association of America, an  independent, nonprofit organization, is operated exclusively to benefit members of the uniformed services—active duty, former and retired, National Guard and Reserve—and their families and survivors. MOAA is dedicated to preserving their earned entitlements and to maintaining a strong national defense. Six out of 10 retired officers belong to MOAA, as do more than 30,000 active duty officers.

Who is eligible to join?
Membership is open to active duty, retired, National Guard, reserve, former commissioned officers and warrant officers of the following uniformed services: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.   Auxiliary memberships also are available for surviving spouses of deceased officers.

Who is Eligible to Join?
Men and women who are or have been commissioned or warrant officers of the uniformed services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Public Health Service) or the Reserve Components of the services eligible.  Auxiliary memberships are available for spouses of deceased officers.

Jayhawk Chapter
The Jayhawk Chapter was organized in 1990 and affiliated with the national office of MOAA that same year.  Today, more than 100 members in East Central  Kansas belong to the chapter.

Kansas Council of Chapters
The Kansas Council of Chapters was organized in 1974 and allows MOAA chapters in Lawrence,  Leavenworth, Manhattan, Overland Park, Salina, Topeka and Wichita to coordinate their efforts in the pursuit of common MOAA objectives.
