I want to thank Don Sheriff and Buck Newsom for all the work they have done explaining TRICARE benefits to our members and others. TRICARE is a wonderful program for military retirees, it basically eliminates the need for secondary insurance to anyone who is enrolled in Medicare Part B. There is no TRICARE enrollment fee or premium, yes, I said NO fee. TRICARE will pay all Medicare copayments and annual deductibles and will be the first payer for TRICARE covered benefits after Medicare benefits are exhausted. If you are Medicare Part B enrolled and still paying a secondary insurance premium for copay coverage you may well be throwing money away. It certainly warrants looking in to.
